Diaspora University is giving Scholars an opportunity to be part of founding Diaspora University being founded at the Diaspora University Town in Taita Taveta County. Diaspora University is founded anchored on the right in Article 33 of the Constitution of Kenya that states, "(1) Every person has the right to freedom of expression, which includes— (a) freedom to seek, receive or impart information or ideas; (b) freedom of artistic creativity; and (c) academic freedom and freedom of scientific research."
Dan Kamau, who created the Diaspora University Town (DUT) Master Development Plan (MDP) paid a visit to Taita Taveta University (TTU). He invited Scholars to become founders of Diaspora University departments by writing the department founding plan document. Several scholars are already writing the department plans that will be applied to offer degree programs.
He met Dr. Justin Mghanga who was the lead consultant of the DUT Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA). Dr. Mghanga is writing the Diaspora University Environment department plan. The 250-page DUT - SEA he and others produced has already initiated the Environment Department of the Diaspora University Town.
The Diaspora University Environment department will be one of the departments established to provide the education training and research for the attainment of the constitution of Kenya right in article 42 that reads. "Every person has the right to a clean and healthy environment."
