Eng. Jack Njaramba has worked in the Kenya Design-Build sector and being part of delivering many projects. He has been part of the Diaspora University Town (DUT) design-build plan development for over 10 years. He is today executing, “The Diaspora University Town (DUT) Design-Build plan 2030.” This plan aims to achieve the following by the end of 2030: a Design-Build Company, Diaspora University Town Design and Construction of a 60 km infrastructure network and 3,750 buildings on 3,600 plots, Diaspora University School of Engineering and Project-Based Learning Center Integration, and over 20,000 jobs created at DUT and other projects.

The Design-Build Company
The Engineering News Record shows the top five U.S. design-build companies delivering $46 billion worth of design-build work in 2024, $32 billion in the U.S., and $14 billion in the International Market. The biggest producer was Bechtel of Reston, VA. The corporation delivered $14 billion worth of work, $12 billion in the U.S., and $2 billion in the International market.
The DUT Design-Build plan will achieve a Design-Build Company. Eng. Jack Njaramba will lead the development of the Design-Build Company to surpass the $300 million (about Ksh 30 billion) production and revenue mark in 2030.

DUT Design and Construction
The Diaspora University Town design and construction incorporate the design and construction of a 60 km road and infrastructure network, as well as 3,750 buildings on 3,600 plots. The production plan will be delivered through 300 production contracts. The estimated budget by 2030 is Ksh 39.5 billion.
Jack Njaramba is establishing his Design-Build Team, the professionals and workers who will deliver the design-build work. He is working closely with the Ndara B Community, who are establishing 16 Micro Small and Medium Enterprises to be the suppliers of construction materials.
The DUT Townhouse Developers, by virtue of becoming townhouse developers, are also contributing to the Design-Build plan by sending persons who can take up the jobs and provide the equipment to be used in the construction.

Integration to Diaspora University School of Engineering and Project-Based Learning Center
The DUT design-build plan is integrated into the Diaspora University School of Engineering and the Diaspora University project-based learning center. The plan will be part of the Diaspora University curriculum.
Students joining the University will join the plan as they study engineering degrees and are part of the Diaspora University projects. After graduation they will contribute to advancing the design-build plan that is expected to become a major construction system in Kenya and Africa.
The Diaspora University, the Design-Build Company and partnering MSMEs will progressively grow the design-build work and yearly revenue with a goal to surpass the $1 billion (ksh 100 billion) mark in the shortest team possible.

Creation of over 20,000 jobs at DUT and other projects
As 2030 comes to a close, the design-build plan is to have created over 20,000 jobs. 2,000 jobs will be at Diaspora University Town. 3,000 joins will be at Ndara B Community building materials system and another 15,000 in different construction sites and towns across Kenya.
